Randy Clark, current Treasurer of the South Lyon School Board, lifetime resident of the South Lyon area and Salem Township, small business owner and longtime community activist has announced his candidacy for the Michigan State House of Representatives in District 52. Current Representative Gretchen Driskell is running for the 7th Congressional District seat, leaving House Seat 52 open.

“I am running for this seat because as School Board Treasurer I have learned about the importance of the decisions made in Lansing. The actions of our state legislators have tremendous impact on our local governments and schools boards. I am excited at the prospect of representing our residents in the process that has so much impact in our everyday life.”, Clark stated. Issues important to me are a conservative fiscal approach to the state budget issues, maintaining the personal rights we all enjoy in this great country and the protection and stewardship of our natural resources. We need a stable funding method for our public education system, the education and retention of our youth is one of the most important factors in improving the state economy and expanding the role of Michigan on the national scale.

In addition to serving as treasurer on the South Lyon School Board, Clark is a member of the Finance and Facilities Committees. He has been a local business owner for over 30 years, specializing in commercial real estate and insurance and has lived in the South Lyon area and Salem Township his entire life.
